This internship is part of an academic training program, a professional training program, or a socio-professional integration program, and must comply with the conditions set by the Employment Market Supervisory Council (CSME). The duration of the internship, as defined by the tripartite agreement, is 6 to 12 months at 100%

Context & mission
Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in public communications, along with creativity, organizational skills, and a high level of self-motivation.
The intern will support the team in its efforts to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of MSF’s operational activities, as well as its humanitarian principles and how these are implemented by OCG.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Compile and analyse reviews of team activities, to be presented twice a year during multi-day team gatherings
- Provide critical insights and analysis on communication initiatives
- Regularly update and maintain a list of communication initiatives across MSF OCG’s countries of operation
- Support internal organization, eliminate redundancies, and maintain a structured filing system
- Design presentations using Canva
- Conduct research, monitoring, and speech analysis on the reach and impact of operational communication initiatives
- Support Strategic Communications Advisors in ongoing projects and develop independent communication initiatives
- Translate and revise texts, press releases, and reports (French and English)
- Take concise weekly meeting minutes, share them, and incorporate feedback
- Contribute to articles, interviews, and digital tools in coordination with Strategic Communications Advisors
- Provide regular internal reports on new communication initiatives
- Create content for MSF digital platforms and support collaboration with country-level communications teams
- Assist in organizing and coordinating internal events
- Support the development and implementation of digital and cross-media communication initiatives
- Contribute to the development of digital and multimedia content
- Provide ad hoc support to operational cells as needed
Your profile
- Have a tripartite internship agreement
- Good understanding of MSF and humanitarian principles
- Strong knowledge of digital media and social media network
- Proactive, creative, and innovative mindset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent command of English and French (additional languages are an asset)
- Graduate degree in media and communications, political science, international relations, public relations, or a related field
- Strong ability to summarise and synthesise information
- Solid understanding of international and online media landscapes
- Editing and multimedia skills are an asset; strong proficiency in Canva is required
- Excellent writing skills with a journalistic mindset
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Terms of employment
- A tripartite internship agreement is mandatory
- 6 to 9 months, according to internship agreement
- Full time (40h/week)
- Based in Geneva, Switzerland
- Start date: June 8th, 2026
- Gross monthly remuneration 2'000.- CHF
