Description
Action for Development is an NGO with offices in Geneva Switzerland and Kabul Afghanistan. Our organisation aims to ensure that funding for health and community development programs is spent in ways that maximize its impact, partnering with local organizations at the grassroots level. The main focus areas of our programs are strategic health facilities management, maternal, neonatal, and child health services expansion, family planning, water, sanitation and hygiene, women's empowerment, capacity building, and education. In 2014, Action for development was granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Duties & Responsibilities Project Officer :
- Assist with the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of AfD projects and programmes.
- Liaise with AfD’s field teams in Afghanistan to collect project information, follow up on activities and support programme implementation.
- Collect, consolidate, verify and analyse project data and information.
- Develop quarterly, bi-annual and annual project reports describing project implementation, progress, results and achievements.
- Prepare and submit compelling Grant Applications, Concept Notes, project proposals and requests for proposals.
- Assist the team in generating new project ideas and developing solutions based on identified needs and AfD priorities.
- Monitor project activities, timelines, indicators, deliverables and outcomes and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Contribute to the development of content for annual organisational reports, presentations, conferences, brochures and websites.
- Undertake relevant research, data collection and analysis and maintain appropriate project documentation.
- Support fundraising campaigns and appeals for donations for AfD projects.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with current and prospective donors, partners, agencies and other stakeholders.
- Support external relations with donors and partners, including providing relevant project information and documentation.
- Represent AfD at meetings, networking events, conferences, job fairs, fundraising events and other relevant gatherings, when required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files, reports and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to AfD’s organisational mission and goals and participate in special projects and other activities as required.
