Description
The IOE is looking for a highly motivated Junior Legal Fellow/Intern to support our team of advisers in the Legal department. The ideal candidate is a native English speaker who recently completed a postgraduate degree in International Law or International Relations. Some relevant professional qualification and/or work experience is required, as is familiarity with and an interest in international law and international organisations.
As a Junior Legal Fellow/Intern, your tasks will involve:
- Analysing the provisions of ILO Conventions and Recommendations and various related documents
- Researching the development of ILO international labour standards
- Drafting summaries to reflect the various positions taken by the ILO standards supervisory bodies and ILO tripartite constituents on the ILO instruments
- Updating and organising the online legal database with new information
- Preparing documents for the discussions of cases and complaints before the ILO standards supervisory bodies
Your skills and experience:
- Fluency in English (native speaker), knowledge in French and Spanish would be an asset
- Ability to draft in clear and concise manner
- Excellent command of MS Office tools
- Strong organisational skills and ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks
- Ability to work with limited supervision and with strong attention to detail
- Flexible, versatile and proactive
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team
- Dynamic and resilient
- Familiarity with and a strong interest in international law and institutions
Qualifications:
- Hold a postgraduate degree in Law, Political Science or International Relations
- Valid Swiss work permit
Conditions:
- Starting date: 1 April 2023
- Based in Geneva
- Full time (40 hours) per week
- Duration: 3 months (with possibility of a renewal)
- A remuneration package will be foreseen
