Description

Applications are sought from suitably qualified individuals to undertake duties as a Research Officer.
The main responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:

• Undertaking effectively, the identification of pertinent information on key policy areas and specific subjects;
• Analysing data sets, reading and summarising existing research, media, reports, briefing materials and other relevant documents;
• Producing reports;
• Undertaking timely the provision of information/ data ;
• Inputting research into the planning of visits and other events;
• Providing support as required including administrative tasks, such as the coordination and planning of public, private meetings and organisation of Ministerial Visits and other events; and
• Undertaking any other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

Applicants should have the following:
• University Degree in International Relations, Public Relations, Research or in any other relevant field;
• 1-2 years working experience in Research in a Diplomatic Mission or other international environment
• Good  writing and verbal Communication Skills with the ability to prepare comprehensive and accurate reports
• Poses good analytical and writing skills
• Be fully proficient in English. Knowledge of French will be an added advantage.
• Have strong IT Skills and the ability to condense research into concise briefing material
• Have the ability to carry out duties in a professional, efficient and effective manner
• Have good knowledge of Diplomacy and International Relations, international system, norms, practices and mechanisms
• Be innovative, flexible, adaptable and should have the ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
