Description

The Shamba Centre for Food & Climate is looking to hire a Senior Project and Grant Manager to work alongside the Executive Director and other project leaders to secure, administer and close grants.  This is a full-time position.  The selected will ideally be based in Geneva, Switzerland or in Kigali, Rwanda.

Duties & Responsibilities

The employee will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Coordinating the grant management process throughout the project cycle: fundraising, planning, contracting, procurement, deliverables tracking, reporting, etc.
  • Managing project-level financial activities: budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Overseeing operating systems: Microsoft Office and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Setting up administrative processes for the execution and management of contracts.
  • Supporting the Executive Director in fundraising and grant management, including writing proposals, developing log frames, negotiating contracts, and preparing donor reports.
  • Liaising between project teams, leadership, donors, and partners.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in project and grant management.
  • Professional qualification in project management, for example, AGILE, PMP, PRINCE, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of how grants are obtained, how grant proposals are developed and how grant-related contracts are executed and closed.
  • Experience in fundraising, proposal writing, and donor relations is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Languages

  • English is essential, French is desirable.
