Description
Organisation description: The Permanent Mission is tasked with representing the Government of the Republic of Cyprus at the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations and agencies based in Switzerland, such as the World Trade Organisation, the International Labour Organisation, the World Health Organisation, the International Telecommunications Union, the International Organisation for Migration, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, as well as a multitude of others.
As part of this multilateral mandate, the Mission is responsible for all dealings and communications with these organizations as well as with the Permanent Missions of all other states resident in Geneva.
Consequently, the scope of issues dealt with by the Permanent Mission is extremely broad and includes, inter alia, issues relating to human rights, disarmament, economic and trade affairs, humanitarian, health and labour affairs, intellectual property and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
The intern will conduct a variety of tasks related to the Human Rights Councill 55 session, including attending the Session’s plenary, the informal consultations on resolutions, and side events, while taking good notes of the proceedings.
An important part of the internship will be supporting the PM’s staff in doing research on various subjects on the Council’s agenda, drafting reports of its proceedings and in organizing any possible side events.
Provided that the intern will be available beyond April, s/he will be also involved in a number of tasks related to the disarmament/non-proliferation fora.
Qualifications and other skills/attributes required or desired:
Have completed at least a two-year university course (i.e. 60 ECTS)
Fluency in English
Experience with social media (twitter and facebook) would be an asset.
The intern should be self-motivated, organized and flexible.
