About Action for Development (AfD)
Action for Development is an NGO with offices in Geneva Switzerland and Kabul Afghanistan.
AfD aims to ensure that funding for health and community development programs are spent in ways that maximize its impact, partnering with local organizations at the grass roots level. The main focus areas of our programs are strategic health facilities management, maternal, neonatal and child health services expansion, family planning, water, sanitation and hygiene, women's empowerment, capacity building and education. In 2014, AfD was granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Specific Activities
- First point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners.
- Maintain personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g. employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases.
- Prepare employment contracts and new hire guides.
- Answer employees’ queries about HR-related issues.
- Revise company policies and guidelines as required.
- Establish guidelines to ensure consistent branding of AfD.
- Assist staff with the formation of their project workplans
- Liaise with external partners and ensure legal compliance as required.
- Assist in creating reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates) financial data as required.
- Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event).
- Responsible for arranging bi-weekly staff meetings, preparing the minutes, logistics etc.
- Responsible for the documentation and circulation of minutes of meeting.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Business Management, or a similar qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience with international organizations, international postings, or managing projects.
- Excellent skills in Excel and reporting.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken. French would be an asset.
- Detail orientated, good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Terms of the Contract:
- Please note that this is an unpaid part-time volunteer position
- Time Commitment: minimum of one day per week, either working in the office or remotely. The candidate should ideally be based in Geneva.
