Permanent Mission of Chile to the United Nations, other international organizations and the Conference on Disarmament
Description
Duration: Three-month fixed-term contract followed by a possible permanent contract
Functions:
Purpose of the position: helping with the promotion of the activities of the Mission of Chile in Geneva and the principles and values of the Republic of Chile, under the direct supervision of the Head of Mission and in close cooperation with the Foreign Service officials.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Updating the profiles of the various social networks (LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and Instagram) every day and managing their content.
- Developing new content for publication on social networks.
- Updating the content of the website of the Permanent Mission of Chile in Geneva.
- Analyzing social media traffic.
- Helping to complete the drafting of press releases and disseminating those drafted by diplomatic officers.
- Attend meetings and produce content for the press.
- Helping to implement new activities, managing communication proposals and assessing impacts.
- Supporting the management and realization of cultural projects.
- Preparing graphic material and videos; knowing how to use basic design and video-editing software.
- Assisting the Permanent Mission at media events by taking photos, producing contents and disseminating it.
- Managing press interviews on the occasion of official visits.
- Assisting the Permanent Mission with any administrative tasks.
Required selection criteria
Professionalism: you have knowledge of the policies, processes and procedures related to the importance of media impact in the multilateral system. You have a proven ability to exercise good judgment in the tasks assigned to you, particularly in stressful situations. You demonstrate professional skill and an understanding of international organizations, local organizations and NGOs. You are a persistent and efficient person, able to carry out your commitments successfully while respecting deadlines and achieving objectives.
Communication: having an effective ability to communicate (written and oral) with the Mission’s colleagues and other contacts.
Teamwork: knowing how to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the Mission's objectives; accepting constructive criticism and being willing to learn from others; being flexible and willing to cooperate.
Planning and organization: allocating time and resources appropriately to get the work done; monitoring and adjusting plans and actions as necessary.
Show an interest in multilateral issues and have a good general knowledge
Education and professional experience
Education: knowledge in journalism, communication or equivalent required; a graduate degree is desirable.
Professional experience: experience in content creation for a multilateral audience is desirable.
Languages: fluent written and spoken Spanish; the ability to write, translate and communicate effectively and courteously in English and French is essential.
IT skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office, including good Excel skills, social networking (Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn), and Google tools.
