Description

The International Organisation of Employers (IOE), based in Geneva, seeks a highly motivated and dynamic Junior Adviser to assist and support the organisation’s on the topics of Business & Human Rights and CSR.

For the IOE as the global voice of business the topics of Business & Human Rights and CSR have grown in importance over the last years.

Description of Duties:

Under the supervision of the Adviser in charge of Business and Human Rights, the candidate will:

  • Support to business human rights activities, events and reports
  • Support in the production of regular reports and debriefings for the Global Industrial Relations Network (GIRN), BHR events, and other related activities.
  • Support in the elaboration of background research, reports in English, French (and ideally Spanish)
  • Support in event organisation and management including logistics, invitation, agendas and concept notes
  • Support in the production of communication materials (e.g., PPT, presentations)
  • Support in the management of the existing members of partners companies related to Business and Human Rights
  • Support with ILO-related matters on Responsible business conduct and Fundamental
    Principles and Rights at Work

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An educational background and qualifications in International Human Rights, International Law, International Relations or similar
  • Ideally a specialisation in the field of Business & Human Rights and CSR
  • An understanding of the role of employers’ organizations
  • High sensitiveness towards business challenges related to regulatory and institutional frameworks, and their interaction with international institutions and governments
  • Fluency in French, English and ideally Spanish (IOE official languages)
  • Excellent writing and analysis skills
  • A very proactive attitude, good learning capacities, creative
  • The ability to work across a range of policy areas, and at ease in drafting different type of documents (briefing notes, reports, invitation letters) and in presenting to and writing for an international audience
  • Experience of working in a team and multicultural environment

Remuneration:

A competitive remuneration package will be offered.

Conditions:

• Starting date: 1st January 2025
• Based in Geneva
• Full-time schedule : 40 weekly hours
• Duration: 1 year with possibility to convert it into a permanent position, depending on performance)
