Concept Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to innovating and enabling equitable access to quality-assured, affordable essential sexual and reproductive health (SRH) medicines and technologies. Founded by WHO and PIACT in 1989,  oncept Foundation operates globally with its headquarter in Geneva, Switzerland, and an additional office in Bangkok, Thailand. Concept Foundation plays a unique role in addressing global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) priorities from a product perspective, collaborating with the private sector, international intergovernmental organizations, and other stakeholders to advance its mission.

Position Overview

The ExD of Concept Foundation is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the organization. The ExD provides visionary leadership to advance Concept Foundation’s mission, oversees the execution of strategic initiatives, and ensures the sustainability and growth of the organization. The role requires close collaboration with the Board of Directors, staff, partners, and stakeholders to achieve the organization’s goal of improving global access to quality-assured SRH products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Design and implement a multi-year strategy for Concept Foundation in alignment with its mission and vision.
  • Lead the organization in identifying and pursuing new opportunities to expand Concept Foundation’s impact on global SRH and related medicines and technologies.
  • Ensure the development and execution of high-quality programs, products, and services that support the strategic goals.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including WHO, other international organizations, donors, and private sector partners.

2. Organizational Management

  • Oversee all operations of Concept Foundation, including product development, manufacturing collaboration, clinical trials, IP management, licensing, technology transfer, regulatory, and post-marketing activities.
  • Ensure effective financial, tax, risk, and facilities management of the organization.
  • Develop and recommend annual budgets to the Board of Directors and manage organizational resources effectively.
  • Provide leadership to the Concept Foundation management team, including the Finance & Administration Manager, and support their professional development.

3. Governance and Board Support

  • Support the operations and administration of the Board of Directors, including preparing reports, facilitating meetings, and ensuring effective communication between the Board and management.
  • Implement Board policies and decisions, providing strategic recommendations based on Concept Foundation’s needs and opportunities.

4. Fundraising and Financial Sustainability

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including identifying new funding sources and cultivating donor relationships.
  • Oversee the preparation of grant proposals and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to donors and the Board of Directors.

5. Human Resources Management

  • Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of a high-performing, motivated, and diverse team.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented organizational culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws and organizational policies.

6. Public Relations and Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for Concept Foundation, representing the organization to the public, media, and key stakeholders.
  • Advocate for policies and practices that enhance global access to SRH products and align with Concept Foundation’s mission.
  • Enhance Concept Foundation’s visibility and reputation as a leader in the global SRH space.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector or organizations focused on global health, SRH, or medicines and related commodity sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the global health landscape, particularly in SRHR.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organizational management, and financial oversight.
  • Successful track record in fundraising, donor engagement, and partnership development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and across multiple geographies.
  • Advanced degree in public health, business administration, international development, or a related field.
