Job Description:
The Governance officer will contribute to IOE operational activities by supporting high-level governance processes and strengthening IOE’s engagement with international policy fora, particularly within the United Nations system. The role requires strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion. Excellent knowledge of English and French is required. Previous experience in a similar position within international institutions or businesses is also highly desirable.
Description of Duties:
- Support with preparation and follow up of the IOE Management Board and IOE General Council.
- Support IOE’s engagement with the United Nations in New York, including the preparation of concept notes, official invitations, event reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Co-lead activities within the Business & Industry stakeholder group, ensuring effective coordination across major international policy processes and high-level forums
- Act as a liaison and communication focal point with IOE members, providing regular updates, organising webinars, collecting feedback, and facilitating meaningful engagement in global policy dialogues.
- Draft and contribute to high-quality reports, position papers, letters, and policy briefs aligned with IOE’s strategic priorities.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, and attend meetings as needed to support follow-up and documentation.
- Support on other ad hoc projects/activities as per IOE needs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A university degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within an international organisation, business association, multilateral agency, or NGO.
- Proven experience supporting governance bodies, high-level meetings, or intergovernmental processes.
- Familiarity with the United Nations system and key global policy processes such as the HLPF, FFD, and UNGA.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French.
- Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to draft concise, high-quality reports, policy briefs, and communications.
- Excellent organisational and project coordination skills, including meeting planning, document preparation, and follow-up.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, SharePoint).
- Proactive and resourceful problem solver.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
Remuneration:
A competitive remuneration package will be offered.

- Work percentage : 50%
