Details of Employment:

The Project Manager (Person-Centred Care), HIV Programmes and Advocacy will be based in Geneva, Switzerland and report to the Senior Project Manager, HIV Programmes and Advocacy. The position is full-time and fixed-term to start as soon as possible until 31 December 2023.

Purpose of the Position:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Person-Centred Care programme. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the budget and leading the overall implementation of the programmatic activities and contributing to resource mobilization efforts to ensure the sustainability of the programme.

Through the Person-Centred Care programme, IAS advocates for a multidisciplinary, integrated and long-term-focused approach to health service delivery for people living with and affected by HIV that is responsive to their evolving needs, priorities and preferences. Access to quality healthcare, responding not only to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment needs, but also integrating the prevention, screening and management of other health issues is a key element in ensuring quality of life for people living with and affected by HIV.

Main Responsibilities:

Project coordination and management

  • Implement programmatic strategies, identify clear deliverables and manage work plans to meet the deliverables.
  • Manage annual budgets and operational plans, keep an up-to-date budget for internal project use and in the budget system; create estimates to ensure appropriate expenditure of the grant.
  • Coordinate the support of external partners and consultants contributing to the programme.
  • Oversee RfPs for sub grants to document good practice models of person-centred care.
  • Work with sub-grant recipients and other stakeholders to document good practices in the form of (briefing papers, reports, white papers, scientific articles) as needed.
  • Track deliverables as related to timelines and expenditures for sub-awards recipients
  • Prepare donor reports as well as report on activities and progress through newsletters, conference abstracts, and annual reports.
  • Expand the thematic portfolio of the PCC programme.
  • Drive resource mobilization efforts to ensure the sustainability of the programme.

Organize stakeholder engagement meetings

  • Convene and facilitate meetings and events, both virtual and in-person, (conferences, workshops, webinars, focus group discussions) and represent the programmes and department at the relevant external conferences and meetings.
  • Organize educational webinars in collaboration with the IAS Educational Fund.

Perform any additional tasks and requested by the Senior Project Manager, HIV Programmes and Advocacy or the Director, HIV Programmes and Advocacy.

Academic Qualifications:

  • A degree in public health, international development, business, business administration, project management, or a related field or relevant work experience
  • A graduate degree would be an asset.

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position; preferably working in HIV, global health or development
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working for international organizations or abroad
  • Experience working with external partners, service providers and/or consultants
  • Experience with in-person, virtual and hybrid conferences
  • Although not essential for this position, the IAS acknowledges the value of the experience of living with HIV and will consider this when evaluating applications.

  • Ability to work independently and handle many tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meet deadlines and occasionally work overtime
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Sense of diplomacy
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office software; familiarity with teleconferencing services an asset
  • Interest or background in HIV
  • Knowledge of HIV co-infections and co-morbidities would be an asset
  • Ability to travel internationally (1-2 business trips per year).

Languages:

  • Fluent in English, knowledge of other languages is an asset.
