Mission

In accordance with the Field HR Vision Paper and the OCG project of empowerment of the field, the objective of the position of HR Compensation & Benefits Referent (Compensation, Benchmarks & costs of living follow-up, Function Grid, Benefits...) is to sustain and develop a coherent and effective HR management in the field, taking into account the different imperatives of the organization (operational, social, financial, international, legal etc.). It is part of the dynamic of the Field HR Tools and Policies unit, whose role is to provide technical support to the field teams in addition to the HROPs whose strategic role is to accompany and coach the HRCOs in their missions.

  • Provide technical support in HR Management on the issue of Compensation and Benefits to OCG operations (Operational Cells and missions);
  • Analyze issues in the area of Compensation and Benefits and propose solutions for modification and implementation in relation to the operational objectives (of the mission and the cell), the HR objectives and other MSF sections constrain in the mission country;
  • Provide technical support to the field in Compensation and Benefits and necessary training of administrative/HR staff.
  • Accompany/support the HRCOs in monitoring the evolution of Compensation and Benefits activities in each field and transfer skills/knowledge to the actors directly involved in Compensation and Benefits management.
  • Contributes with the unit's technical referents to the development of payroll plans
  • Technical referent for the implementation and maintenance of the IRFFG in the field. Participates in the improvement of the field grid by proposing adjustments to the IRFFG intersection platform
  • Is the internal referent for all field compensation issues
  • Actively supports the HROPs and the HRCOs in the development of HR strategies in the field on Compensation & Benefits issues.
  • Establish a monitoring in the area of Compensation & Benefits in OCG missions and propose adjustment actions to the HROPs and HRCOs according to the identified needs (via fundamental tools, audit...).

Scope of responsibilities

Operational support

  • Is the technical referent to the HRCOs & HROPs, for all questions related to the job description, compensation and benefits of national staff (policy, methodology, tools and technical issues);
  • Analyzes field requests and HROPs needs and proposes solutions for adaptation and improvement in line with the operational strategy of the unit/mission;
  • Is the international contact for Compensation and Benefits issues in case of common HR projects (IRFFG, Benchmarking, Common Frame...).
  • Regularly analyzes data from the field (reports, monitoring of indicators, etc.) and provides technical advice and appropriate recommendations.

HR staffs support

  • Training of employees and review of training modules
  • Updating and simplification of technical tools (OCG and Intersection) or creation of new ones as needed.

HR department support

  • Analyzes, supports and controls the implementation and maintenance of the IRFFG on OCG missions
  • Actively participates in cross-functional discussions on IRFFG changes and improvements
  • Actively participates in intersectional discussions on salary grid and compensation package revisions.
  • Participate in the development and review of internal and intersectional policies (IRFFG, Benchmark MSF-NO, Common Frame...)
  • Participates in the development of HR project via the HR working groups
  • Participates in the development of other HR subjects/projects upon request of the Unit Manager

Your Profile

Education

  • Training in Management / Administration / HR

Work experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HR administration in one or more NGOs or private companies.
  • At least one MSF field experience with HR responsibilities (field or coordination).
  • Experience in developing training tools and modules is an asset.

Langues

  • French and English written and spoken
  • Knowledge of Spanish is an asset

Skills

  • Knowledge of Compensation Management and job classification.
  • Good knowledge of Pack Office.
  • Knowledge of Homere.
  • Knowledge of the HAY method is an asset

Working conditions

  • Open-ended contract, 100%
  • Based in Geneva
  • Ideal start date : As Soon As Possible
  • Gross annual salary: from CHF 91’668.- to CHF 105’180.- (Salary determined on the basis of recognised experience and the internal salary scale)
