Description

The Climate Action Accelerator is a new international non-profit initiative based in Geneva, with the aim of mobilizing a critical mass of intermediary organizations to scale up the implementation of climate solutions, keep global warming below 2°C and avoid the risk of dangerous runaway climate change. Partner of the UNFCCC's RACE TO ZERO campaign, the Initiative already includes 15 international aid and health organisations, including: Terre des hommes, the International Committee of the Red Cross and Doctors without Borders. By integrating them into a community of action, the initiative helps these organizations to reduce their own GHG emissions by at least half each decade. This effort is intended to contribute to a domino effect that encourages the exponential deployment of sustainable solutions throughout society.

You will join a team of five people in the Solutions Division and interact with the team members as well as with the other project managers in the Support Division and our partners.
You will be in charge of life cycle analysis and carbon measurement projects, and more specifically:

  • the creation of a carbon emissions factors database to supply the carbon accounting tools used by aid organisations
  • strengthening the modelling of emissions reduction trajectories of partner organisations
  • contributing to the emergence of reference standards for the aid sector
  • ensuring compliance with international reference standards in the measurement and monitoring practices of partner organisations
  • carrying out occasional carbon footprint measurements
  • ensuring a constant watch on tools and good practices with a view to making them available on the open-source platform.

Preferred profile:

  • Master or PhD in engineering, pure and applied sciences or equivalent with a specialisation in life cycle assessment
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in the field of carbon measurement and life cycle assessment in consulting firms and/or large organisations
  • Proficiency in project management (objectives, monitoring, planning, resources, risks, agile methods, resources...) and familiarity with tools such as Gantt or Kanban Expertise in databases and emission factors
  • Very good writing skills for carbon footprint reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel), Business Intelligence, Python Good command of English and very good command of French
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to adapt, communicate and popularise

  • Partial teleworking to be expected, depending on regulations Regular travels to Geneva or Paris
