Context

Médecins Sans Frontières is an international, independent medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to populations in need, to people affected by natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and regardless of their race, religion, belief or political affiliation (MSF Charter). The MSF movement is built around 5 operational centers supported by 24 sections and offices worldwide. MSF Operational Centre of Geneva is one of these centers. The operations are implemented by around 60 field teams, 25 mission coordination teams and organizational units based in Africa, Middle East, Asia and Central America.

Mission

The intern will learn how to take in charge the review of process and compliance with our IT guidelines. The intern will also be taught and involved in the management of ITSM tools and development if requested.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Work closely with application manager and project manager in order to learn and have a good understanding of their activities, requirements, and customers
  • Learn and be able to consolidate and create template of documents
  • Be taught how to ensure the consistency of the referential, propose change requests when needed
  • Learn how to be responsible of the change request process (requirements, specifications, quotation, delivery, validation)
  • Be taught how to liaise with the IT infrastructure and operations team to ensure the global understanding of processes
  • Coordinate communication with all areas and stakeholders of the organization impacted by activities
  • Learn how to deliver documentation and formal reporting.

Your profile

  • Have a tripartite internship agreement
  • Finished or in progress Master degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field,
  • Strong knowledge in Information System organization
  • Variety of knowledge in project management method
  • Good overall understanding of functional matter (Finance, HR, logistics, medical,…)
  • Fluent in French, comfortable in English
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Autonomous and very well organized
  • Flexible, pro-active, excellent team player
  • Committed to MSF values
  • Experienced, at least during study, in development and project management
  • Experienced in teamwork

Terms of employement

  • A tripartite internship agreement is mandatory
  • 6 months, or according to internship agreement
  • Full time (40h/week)
  • Based in Geneva
  • Start date : ASAP
  • Gross monthly remuneration 2'000.- CHF
