Post description:

The IOE is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Financial Adviser, taking on the following responsibilities:

Finance and control:

  • Managing the Organisation’s memberships (including relationship with members, invoicing, coordination with regional advisers) and incomes from networks
  • Elaborating the budget of the organisation, preparing forecasts and monitoring the financial situation over the FY
  • Managing the financial activities (including budgets/financial reports) related to projects with external stakeholders (corporate / private partners and employers’ member institutions)
  • Liaising with donors and building partnerships through the projects
  • Ensuring that internal policies are in line with the third-party requirements
  • Developing and implementing internal processes and financial policies
  • Providing and preparing financial documents for the Audit of the accounts (external auditors)
  • In charge of the Finance Committee preparation (documents, presentation, and organisation), including the reporting to the Secretary General and the Treasurer
  • Approval of internal budgets and payment of invoices
  • Creating and administering financial spreadsheets
  • VAT declarations and collaboration with VAT lawyers
  • PoC with external auditors, authorities and bank advisers

HR payroll and administration:

  • Managing monthly payroll, social contributions’ affiliations and related regulations
  • Calculation and ongoing control of salaries and social contributions
  • Providing and preparing salary documents for the external audits: yearly audit of the accounts and the AVS control
  • Supporting collaborators with regards to salary questions
  • PoC for IT matters

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of finance management experience, preferably in an international environment
  • Ideally: An understanding of the role of employers’ organisations and of the world of business how it relates to the international institutions and governments
  • Master’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Bookkeeping knowledge and understanding (IFRS preferably)
  • Excellent ability to problem solves along with solid analytical skills, understanding of the organisation processes, and systems optimization
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting
  • Ability to review data and make relevant management decisions
  • Ability to conduct independent research and analysis
  • Maintains confidentiality in all finance and personnel related items
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to manage staff and work with limited supervision
  • French and English mandatory, fluent in written and oral

Conditions:

  • Starting date: ASAP. Ideally 1 November 2022
  • A valid Swiss work permit
  • Full-time schedule of five days (40 hours) per week
  • Duration: permanent position
