Description

Roles & responsibilities:

The volunteer will be carrying out the following main activities:

  • Update the organization’s website
  • Update the organization’s social media as necessary on a regular basis
  • Drafting concise texts and documents for website, social media or other as necessary
  • Support the production of communication materials (newsletters, flyers, etc.) as necessary
  • Support the President and Main Representative to the United Nations in Geneva in the development and management of communication as necessary
  • Assist in other communications and outreach activities

Qualifications & Education requirements

The candidate needs to have good knowledge of social media. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in communications / journalism, marketing, international relations, human rights, or related field, with strong communications skills. A Master’s Degree would constitute an asset. Candidates do not need to be enrolled in a university programme for the duration of the assignment.

Other preferred skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Good knowledge of website management (WordPress or other softwares)
  • Good knowledge of social media functions
  • Basic knowledge of or interest in human rights issues at the international or regional level
  • A very good command of written and spoken English; other languages (UN official languages) an asset
  • Computer literate
  • Proactive and can-do attitude
  • Willingness to work in a small team
