For our Operations Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Division, we are looking for a highly dedicated and dynamic individual to be our next:

JUNIOR PROJECT OFFICER, DONOR RELATIONS (100 %)

  • Location: Geneva
  • Starting date: May 2023
  • Duration: 24 months, fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension

The role

Reporting to the MENA Division’s Programme Development and Fundraising Manager, the Junior Project Officer, Fundraising will support the development and implementation of the division’s fundraising strategy, providing key research, programme development, and grant management support to MENA teams.

Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the identification of new fundraising opportunities, including researching and tracking donor strategies, instruments and funds;
  • Support the development of the MENA division’s fundraising strategy;
  • Support the articulation and implementation of tailored donor outreach and communication strategies;
  • Ensure tracking and management of donor communications and outreach;
  • Ensure efficient tracking of grant commitments and deadlines;
  • Support coordination of MENA teams to ensure grant commitments are delivered on time and of high quality;
  • Support donor cultivation through drafting of communication materials;
  • Support the development and organisation of donor-facing events;
  • Work with MENA teams to identify opportunities for donor cultivation in their projects and programmes;
  • Support the organisation of bi-annual TFNA Steering Committee meetings (including coordinating reporting, agendas, scheduling, facilitation, minutes, logistics, follow-up, etc.);
  • Support the development of quarterly narrative updates to TFNA members;
  • Support the development and submission of project concepts and proposals;
  • Support the development and submission of narrative and financial reports;
  • Prepare background summaries, speaking points, presentations, concept notes, and other documents as requested;
  • Support MENA teams to conduct monitoring, evaluation and learning for their projects, including through organising lessons learning exercises;
  • Support MENA teams to complete annual results-based management planning and reporting processes.

Minimum requirements

  • University degree in political sciences, international relations, law, development, security studies or related field;
  • Prior experience in fundraising and grant management in the non-profit sector would be distinct asset;
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of French and Arabic would be highly desirable;
  • Excellent English writing skills and capacity to write and edit reports for publication;
  • Strong communication and organisational skills;
  • Cultural sensitivity, ideally familiarity with the MENA region;
  • Swiss or EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Switzerland at the time of application is a pre-requisite.
