Context & Mission

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The IT Application Manager guarantees fit of applications under his portfolio with business needs. He develops himself or manage a development team to make application evolve. He has to organize building of application’s release as small projects.

He also guarantees applications availability and provide support to users.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver releases of application according to quality criteria defined (Functional coverage, budget, time, …).
  • Ensure availability and quality level of running applications under his portfolio
  • Provide technical support to business referent and users
  • Manage Application Lifecycle
  • Align with Product Owner and Application Management Committee
  • Analyze business needs and propose solution
  • Analyze and prioritize bug fixing and improvement. Organize releases of applications
  • Define planning and ensure all stakeholder involvement
  • Coordinate communication to the organization about changes performed
  • Liaise with the infrastructure and operations teams for the implementation of changes
  • Ensure quality of delivery and good cooperation with external providers
  • Deliver documentation and formal reporting.
  • Technically support users by providing analysis and solution to incident raised
  • Based on problem management propose process and software improvements

Your Profile

Education

  • Bachelor or Master degree in computer sciences, information systems, engineering or related field
  • ITIL Fundations

Experience

  • Experience in application or product management
  • Experience in software development
  • Experience with multiple technologies

Skills/ Technical competencies

  • Excellent overall understanding of IT matter (architecture, tailor-made and off-the-shelf business and IT solutions, IT organization, IT infrastructure, technologies)
  • Development and database management
  • Software configuration
  • ERP integration principles
  • Testing and validation information systems

Languages

  • English and French are the working languages at MSF Switzerland headquarters. For the position advertised, fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of another language (Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish) is considered an advantage.

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time position 100% (40h/week)
  • Fixed-term position, 6 months
  • Working place: Geneva
  • Ideal start date: September 1st, 2023
  • Gross monthly salary (100%): from CHF 7’792.- to CHF 8’940.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)
  • Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.
  • Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member
  • Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
