Description

International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) is a Swiss non-profit foundation that works to ensure a better future for children in cocoa-growing communities.  It is a multi-stakeholder initiative that unites the forces of the cocoa and chocolate industry, civil society, farming communities, governments, international organizations, and donors to promote human rights, and to tackle child labor in the cocoa supply chain.

ICI is hiring a dynamic Accounting Assistant 50% for our headquarters in Switzerland for a 6-month period.

Under the supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer, she/he will be responsible for:

  • Prepare payments files with incoming invoices, expense reports, ensuring they are duly approved
  • Prepare Account Payable journal entries in SUN in a timely manner
  • Handle credit card liquidation process: statement distribution, collection & entering journal entries
  • Assistance in Accounting related administrative tasks as needed & filing
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date filing of electronic and/or hard copies of all financial documentation and reports

Education and experience

  • Minimum 2 years (or more) of similar experience
  • Good knowledge of financial and accounting practices in Switzerland
  • CFC de commerce degree or equivalent

Skills and competencies

  • Proactive, flexible, at ease working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized, conscientious, precise, high attention to detail
  • Team player, helpful, proficient at successfully handling multiple tasks
  • Excellent level of French, with a good level of English
