Description

The Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) is seeking a Artificial Intelligence (AI) Communications and Advocacy Volunteer to explore innovative applications of AI for content creation and measurement in support frontline communities and professionals working for global health, development, and humanitarian response.

As our communications and advocacy AI volunteer, you will have the exciting opportunity to pilot new applications of cutting-edge technology to amplify the voices of frontline communities and the professionals who support them worldwide. If you want to gain hands-on experience with generative AI while driving social impact, this role is for you.

This is a remote, volunteer position in our Insights Unit.

What you will do:

  • Learn to work with Artificial Intelligence Agents, the Foundation’s team and partners, and humans on the frontlines to pilot the use of generative AI for content creation.
  • Help develop and implement strategies leveraging AI write to draft social media posts, articles, newsletters, and other content.
  • Develop prompts to train AI models on TGLF’s mission, voice, and target audiences to generate and disseminate high-quality communications materials based on complex data.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated content before publication, working with subject matter experts and other human contributors.
  • Track performance of AI-generated materials and compare against human-written content.
  • Stay current on emerging best practices for generative AI in communications, bringing innovative approaches and tools that can be strengthen and accelerate the Foundation’s communication and advocacy capabilities.

What you need to have:

  • Formal (a university degree, experience working for “old media”) or informal (ex: a successful YouTube channel, anything that demonstrates cutting-edge practice of generative AI) qualification in marketing, journalism, communications or related field.
  • Experience using generative AI tools for multimodal (text, images, video) content creation.
  • Strong writing, editing and communications skills.
  • Familiarity with generative AI ethical considerations for global development and humanitarian response.
  • Knowledge of communications best practices and trends.
  • Passion for leveraging technology to advance social impact.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to assess content quality and performance.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and commitment to elevating diverse voices.

Useful add-ons:

  • Fluency in written and spoken French or other languages spoken in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
  • Data analysis skills (Python, ML) sufficient to use generative AI APIs and develop no-code apps.
