CHS Alliance is a global network of humanitarian and development organisations committed to driving accountability for people in crisis. With more than 200 members and growing, we use the Core Humanitarian Standard to drive greater accountability for people in crisis.

We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quality Assurance Manager to strengthen and lead the CHS verification work of the CHS Alliance.

Job purpose

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Executive Director, the Senior Quality Assurance Manager will lead the CHS verification work of the CHS Alliance working in collaboration with the Senior Management Team and guided by an external Verification Advisory Panel.

Increasing the uptake of verification against the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) is a central pillar of the CHS Alliance’s work to support organisations to improve the quality and accountability of aid for people affected by crises.

Key responsibilities at a glance:

  • Ensure a robust Verification Scheme to improve the delivery of the CHS Commitments.
  • Coordinate and support an effective Verification Advisory Panel (VAP) to guide the strategic oversight of the Verification Scheme.
  • Ensure appropriate communication, support and relevant tools are in place to guide members and other organisations through the verification process.
  • Provide direction and oversight to the Self-Assessment process.
  • Manage the evidence around Verification – including the oversight of a well functioning CHS Commitment Tracker platform.
  • Act as the key relationship manager with the Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative (HQAI).

Candidate profile

We are looking for a capable leader, with proven experience in the development and implementation of standards-based verification/certification schemes, preferably in the humanitarian or development sectors.
