Context & Mission
The IT Application Manager, as a representative of the DSI, establishes and implements project management processes to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet the internal customer expectations to their full satisfaction. Projects or sub-projects assigned to the IT Application Manager may involve the implementation of business applications, technical upgrades (infrastructure), or transformational/organizational projects.
In this role, the IT Application Manager is responsible for delivering projects according to defined quality criteria, including functional coverage, budget adherence, and timely completion. Additionally, ensuring the availability and quality level of running applications under their portfolio is a key responsibility.
This position involves close collaboration with the Medical Department and our missions in the field.
Main Activities
The IT Application Manager will Manage medical applications through their entire lifecycle :
- Provide support to end users by analyzing reported incidents and proposing effective solutions.
- Automate and develop scripts when necessary to optimize processes.
- Gain a thorough understanding of business requirements, project stakes, benefits, constraints, and interdependencies.
- Coordinate communication with all areas and stakeholders of the organization impacted by the application lifecycle.
- Manage suppliers and ensure effective collaboration with them.
- Define deployment plans based on priorities, allocate tasks within the team, supervise daily efforts, identify resource needs, and conduct quality reviews.
- Report functional, quality, or timeline issues appropriately.
- Ensure coherence and good cooperation within the project team.
- Ensure full compliance with methodology, tools, and standards.
- Actively propose improvements if necessary.
- Produce comprehensive documentation and formal reports to ensure traceability of activities and decisions.
Your Profile
Education
- Tertiary degree in computer sciences, information systems, engineering or related field
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
- Project management certification (PMP, PMI, Hermès, ...) would be considered an asset.
Experience
- Proven experience as an application manager overseeing release management processes.
- Extensive experience leading integration and development projects.
- Proficient in a wide range of technologies across various roles, including developer, technical lead, and test manager.
- Experience in development (web, mobile), scripting (Python, shell, etc.), and data management (SQL, reporting tools).
- Experience in an international environment is a plus
Skills/ Technical competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of IT concepts including architecture, customized and off-the-shelf business solutions, IT organization, infrastructure, and technologies.
- Solid understanding of medical concepts.
- Proficiency in DHIS2 installation, configuration, parameterization, and development.
- Ability to analyze and document processes and systems effectively.
Languages
- Advanced level of French and English, both written and spoken

Terms of Employment
- Full-time position 100% (40h/week)
- Fixed-term contract (24 months)
- Working place: Geneva
- Ideal start date: May 2024
- Gross annual salary (for 100%): from CHF 93’504.- to CHF 107’280.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid)
- Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.
- Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member
- Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
