Description
- Location: Remote (from within in Switzerland)
- Duration: 3-6 months (with possibility of extension depending on funding)
Are you passionate about addressing climate change and its impacts on the world's most vulnerable populations? IOLDCs / OIPMA is seeking dedicated volunteer researchers to join our accelerated study on the impacts of climate change in the LDCs - this critical research will explore the causal chain from environmental degradation to global security threats, providing essential data to inform policy and intervention strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesise existing research on climate change
impacts. - Assist in selecting and analysing case studies of specific LDCs.
- Collect and analyse environmental, economic, social, and political data.
- Potentially conduct field surveys and interviews with local communities (where
feasible). - Contribute to the compilation and analysis of data to support the research narrative.
- Assist in drafting sections of the final report and White Paper.
Qualifications:
- Background in environmental science, economics, political science, human rights, or
a related field. - Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior research experience and familiarity with LDCs is a plus.
