Description
Gold Standard (GS) is a standard body that stands for the best that can be achieved in climate and development projects. It was established in 2003 by WWF and other international NGOs as a best practice standard to ensure projects that reduced carbon emissions under the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) also delivered sustainable development benefits. Gold Standard now has more than 80 NGO supporters and 1400+ projects in over 80 countries, creating billions of dollars of shared value from climate and development action worldwide.
The Administrative Assistant primarily supports Finance and Operations team. This position is based in Geneva (HQ) and is being offered on a part time basis, with the potential to move to full time.
Responsibilities
- General Office Administration
- Oversee day-to-day office management issues, such as ordering office supplies
- Supports executive assistant in the planning of team events (quotations, travel requirements, schedule etc.)
- Provide administrative support to the Management team on their regular travel and meeting arrangements
- Perform other related administrative duties, as required, e.g., identification of office technology needs, maintenance of equipment
- Interact with the relevant Swiss government agencies, Geneva Commercial Registry and the Federal Foundation Supervisory Authority
- Manage office-related contracts, such as the office lease and IT systems
- Legal Contract Management
- Assist with administrative tasks related to donor agreements and Gold Standard’s contracts for outsourced services
- Verify invoices received form contractors against delivered goods and services
- Manage, organize and maintain all Gold Standard’s legal documents in electronic filing sys
- Finance
- Assist with checking Expenses Reports from staff members
- Provide support to the Senior Finance Officer if needed
- Human Resource Management
- Assist on HR administrative tasks (Permit request, insurance claim etc)
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding employees as needed
Qualifications
- A Professional Degree (CFC) or a Bachelor’s degree in Business
- At least 3 years of administrative assistance experience
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Enthusiasm for making efficiency improvements to existing processes
- Ability to work independently and to deadlines, with a problem solving attitude
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the environment or sustainable development a plus
