Description
ESCA CancerSupport is a charitable organization whose aim is to support people in the greater Geneva and Lausanne regions affected by cancer. It provides free services in English, ranging from one-to-one counselling, peer support and support groups to physical activities such as yoga, gym or walking groups.
The internship with ESCA CS will provide an opportunity for a student to apply his/her learning and knowledge in a real-world NGO context, and to further develop their skills, including building management skills for a socially responsible organization
Scope of work
ESCA CS is seeking for an intern to provide diverse support across the organization. As ESCA CS is a local association with a limited workforce where staff often have several roles, the intern will have an opportunity to be involved in a variety of work streams.
The work will include:
- Support Director on:
- Coordinating and developing external partnerships
- Conceptualizing and organizing events for donors, partners and ESCA CS community
- Developing a fundraising strategy
- Coordinating work across the organization, preparing workplans, management tools etc.
- Support Communications, Events and Awareness Manager on:
- Revision of ESCA CS website, social media and storytelling
- Creating social media content
- Awareness and marketing campaigns
- Producing other communications material
- Developing ESCA CS Outreach
- Other tasks as necessary in discussion with the Director
Timeline
The internship will last for 3-6 months, to be agreed on. The starting date can be flexible.
Skills and qualities required
The intern will need to have:
- A passion for creating local impact through direct services and support to people
- Creativity and an innovation mindset
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, including good grasp or both written and spoken English
- Knowledge of French is a plus, but not essential
- Willingness to work across a variety of areas
- Ability to multitask and to deliver results under tight schedules
- Communication-related technical skills, such as website design or graphic design, can be a bonus
The intern will need to be currently a student in a recognized university-level programme in Switzerland, and the internship needs to be recognized by his/her university as a part of the degree programme.
The internship is non-remunerated.
