For FIATA, a global non-profit entity with over 100 years of tradition representing service providers, comprising of association members in over 100 economies and their members globally (more than 40’000 worldwide), in international trade logistics and supply chain management. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Junior International Trade and Law Officer to join FIATA’s International Trade and Law Unit.
The Junior International Trade and Law Officer will be expected to contribute to the overall achievement of the business unit’s results by undertaking all tasks, activities or assignment as directed by the Business unit, consistent with the aim and objectives of the organization. The Junior International Trade and Law Officer will work under the supervision of the Head of the International Trade and Law Unit.

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting in the organization of meetings/events of FIATA Institutes and working groups;
  • Preparing meeting documentation, including briefing notes, agendas, reports, minutes and presentations for the International Trade and Law Unit, as well as other business units where necessary;
  • Monitoring and coordinating responses to requests received by the International Trade and Law Business Unit;
  • Research on relevant policy issues and contributing to drafting related FIATA communications;
  • Monitoring the distribution and control of FIATA transport documents;
  • Assisting the International Trade Law Unit with administrative tasks and providing support on relevant activities in liaison with other FIATA business units.

Requirements

  • Academic qualification(s) in law, economics, business administration, international trade, trade policy, customs administration, or similar field;
  • Some relevant work experience;
  • Contextual knowledge and understanding of logistics and transport;
  • Able to solve problems as well as exercise solid analysis and judgement to identify solutions;
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, working in a fast-paced, global environment, managing projects with multiple deliverables and stakeholders;
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
    Strong written and oral communication skills in English;
  • Highly motivated and committed to deliver high-quality material and attention to detail;
  • Flexible as required by the international profile of the activity and membership;
  • Team spirit, sense of service to others and innovative thinking.
