Fight for Humanity
Founded in March 2019, Fight for Humanity is a dynamic non-governmental organization that seeks to reinforce respect for the rights of people exposed to human rights abuses in situations of violence and conflict. It currently leads programmes in the Middle East, Colombia and Mynamar, on child protection, the protection of cultural heritage, women's rights and the promotion of social cohesion.
Job Description
The intern will support Fight for Humanity's communication and fundraising activities. He/she will report to the Head of Development and, occasionally and on some specific tasks, to the Head of Operations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Fundraising
- Support the preparation of project concept notes and proposals in coordination with the operational team
- Participate in the identification of potential donors
- Support the coordination of fundraising efforts
Communication
- Support the organization and follow up of on our regular online events and webinars (communications/logistics)
- Prepare relevant content for Fight for Humanity/s social media (internal news + external content)
- Support the development of Fight for Humanity’s website and regular newsletter
Programmes
- Occasionally support the Head of Operations on research, mapping and desk assessments or to participate in events.
General:
- Work within the framework of Fight for Humanity 's core values, promoting its mission statement
- Commit to read and respect all Fight for Humanity’s current ethic and organizational policies
- Work towards achieving Fight for Humanity’s organization and programme level objectives.
- Participate in Fight for Humanity training activities as required.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.
Profile Requirements:
To be considered for an internship at Fight for Humanity, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Enrolled in a Master’s or graduate programme (Master's degree, or higher), at the time of application and during the whole internship period in one of the following fields: human rights, international relations, international development, communication or a similar field
- Languages: English - Native or full professional proficiency | German a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office); familiarity with online and social media communication tools.
- Strong interest in human rights
- Able to work well in a team and adapt to an international working environment
Internship conditions:
This internship is based in Geneva and can be part time (80%), for a period of from 4 to 6 months. Unpaid position.
