ABOUT US
FSD (Fondation suisse de déminage), is a Geneva-based humanitarian organization that has been working for 25 years to protect civilian populations from landmines and explosive remnants of war. Our teams localise and destroy explosive remnants of war, conduct awareness campaigns, and develop socioeconomic assistance projects for victims of accidental explosions. JOB DESCRIPTION
FSD is seeking a fundraising officer to work within its fundraising team, at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Under the direct supervision of FSD’s Head of fundraising, he/she will contribute to FSD’s fundraising efforts through two major activities:
- Identification of potential funding sources and drafting grant proposals as part of its philanthropic program.
- Management of Swiss-German donor relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The fundraising officer’s main responsibilities will be as follow:
- Getting familiar with mine action and accustomed to specialised terminology.
- Conduct research and identify funding opportunities amongst potential donors for FSD’s projects. Particularly governmental and non-governmental organisations, foundations, and companies.
- Write and design grant applications and reports in line with potential donors’ requirements and FSD brand guidelines.
- Nurture relationship with FSD’s donors.
- Contribute to updating and managing CRM.
- Translate documents to German and French.
- Manage donor relations in German (answering calls, responding to emails...)
- Assist in the implementation of fundraising campaigns.
REQUIRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate should showcase the following key skills:
- Fluent in German and French, both spoken and written (min. C1 level). Proficiency in English would be a clear advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication with proven copywriting skills.
- Good knowledge of computer tools (MS Office, etc.). A strong interest in graphic design tools is an asset.
- A proactive, dynamic and creative approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Data driven with strong attention to detail.
- An interest in humanitarian issues, particularly in mine action.
