About Us

HealthAI – The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health is a global nonprofit that champions Responsible AI in health. Its mission is to advance the development and adoption of Responsible AI solutions in health through the collaborative implementation of regulatory mechanisms and global standards. HealthAI’s approach focuses on empowering national and regional institutions to regulate and validate AI solutions for health according to global standards issued by existing normative agencies such as the WHO, OECD and UNESCO, while also promoting global cooperation and knowledge sharing.

Job Description

To further support its growth, Health AI is looking for a seasoned professional to take a dual role as Chief Operating and People Officer. The person holding this position will need to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of Health AI and its projects, oversee its financial management, develop sound people practices focused on a people-centric culture, and supervise all HR processes.

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Oversee execution of the strategy in partnership with the Senior Management Team
  • Promote the implementation and execution of a performance management system aligned with the strategy
  • Guide project execution, including the development and implementation of metrics
  • (Re)design and improve work processes
  • Ensure compliance
  • Select and integrate the appropriate management tools
  • Validate and oversee both internal and external reporting instruments
  • Oversee budgeting and controlling processes with the Financial Manager
  • Develop and maintain contracts and agreements with partners.

People & Culture

  • Oversee HR and Talent Management with the Human Resources Manager
  • Create a strong Employer Value Proposition with a people-centric focus
  • Actively promote Health AI as an employer of choice
  • Implement policies for diversity & inclusion
  • Select and integrate the appropriate HR management tools
  • Work as a coach to equip the team with the necessary leadership skills
  • Act as a steward to protect Health AI’s purpose, values and culture

 Candidate Qualifications

  • MSc degree or higher, ideally with a management focus.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in managing complex operations and dealing with both finance and people & culture matters.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required, any other UN official languages would be an advantage.

Candidate Competencies

  • Solid knowledge of operations, finance, HR and talent management.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to tackle complex problems creatively.
  • Strong people skills to promote a purpose-driven, people-centric, and collaborative culture.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies, particularly AI, and their applications in healthcare is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts to a diverse and international audience.
  • Strong diplomatic and communication skills as well as cultural sensitivity to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to initiate and manage projects and to deliver timely and with high standards.
  • Strategic thinking, able to see the big picture and to identify when and how to change priorities.
  • Passion for learning and a “start-up mindset”, able to easily switch between strategic and operational responsibilities.
  • Ability to listen, adapt, persuade and transform.
  • Positive attitude with a people-centric, resilient and collaborative approach.
