About Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, a German political foundation and non-profit organisation supports democratisation processes, rule of law and political dialogue worldwide. In its Geneva office that seeks to strengthen multilateralism and works closely with the UN system and like-minded organisations, the position of an accountant (half time) has opened.
Financial Management and Accounting
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung uses an integrated project accounting, management and information system tailor-made to the needs of an organisation that operates over 100 country offices worldwide. The Accountant works closely with the Project Managers. He/she reports to the Executive Director.
The responsibilities encompass:
- Verification of invoices, supplementary documentation; processing of payments and general book-keeping
 - Liaison with service providers
 - Verification of debits from bank account on a daily basis
 - Budget forecasting, request and control of transfer of funds
 - Preparation of monthly accounting report to KAS headquarters
 - Clarification of internal audit queries
 - Preparation of end of year report to main donor
 - In cooperation with the external service provider preparation of the yearly financial report to Swiss authorities
 - In cooperation with the audit company preparation of the financial review according to Swiss non-profit legislation.
 
Administration:
- Monitoring and management of existing contracts with service providers to KAS office (e.g. subscriptions, insurances, regular service providers)
 - Liaison with building management
 - Management of KAS inventory
 - Assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director
 - Provide support to events hosted by the office of KAS
 
Human Resources Management:
- Administer the HR files of KAS Geneva employees
 - Provide the payroll management company with the necessary information and verify their monthly payroll statements
 - Manage the annual leave data base and provide updated information to the Head of Office
 
Your ideal profile:
- College degree in accounting, business administration, and/or human resources management
 - 3-years or more of professional experience in the field of finance management and accounting
 - Knowledge of legal obligations by non-profit organisations in Switzerland
 - Elaborate sense of responsibility and high level of organizational skills
 - Being able to manage tight deadlines and to work autonomously
 - Teamworker who supports and guides colleagues particularly in their administrative tasks
 - Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office as well as the ability to familiarize quickly with new software
 - Excellent proficiency of English and French; German language skills are seen as an additional asset
 - Swiss nationality is seen as an additional asset
