Description

Globethics.net is an international non-profit, non-governmental foundation with its Head Office in Geneva, Switzerland and partners on all continents. Globethics.net is accredited as an online, distance and blended learning provider and offers course programmes for continuing professional formation in applied ethics.

It is also a global network of individuals and institutions interested in applied ethics with ethics in higher education as its vision. Globethics.net aims at strengthening global common values as well as respecting ethical contextual diversity.
Through its global digital library on ethics and its online publications Globethics.net contributes to improving access to knowledge resources in ethics. In addition, it facilitates collaborative web-based research, conferences and active sharing of information and collaboration.

In the context of this organisational development perspective, Globethics.net is looking for a person to take up a key supporting position in the Academic Programmes and Resources department in the running of the academic course programme and in the implementation of a new ranking project.

The person would work closely with and under the leadership of the Academic Dean, the Academic Office Manager and with other Globethics.net colleagues at the Head Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

Administrative Tasks (50%) :

Support for the organisation and running of the online and blended learning programme, including:

  • Sending out the reminders to the students (e.g. before the live sessions);
  • Checking that all the information on the course pages is correct (e.g. links to PDF files, submission dates for the assignments, etc.);
  • Setting up of meetings on the Zoom platform;
  • Support during the live sessions (e.g. starting the meeting, managing recordings, assigning instructors as hosts etc.);Support with student registrations; and
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned, e.g. minute taking of meetings, etc.

Project Tasks (50%) :

Support for the implementation of the Globethics.net University Ranking project by:

  • Contributing to the design, hosting, editing, progress reporting and downloading of data on the online survey platform;
  • Communicating the project to various stakeholders and on multiple digital and traditional platforms;
  • Supporting and collaborating closely with the project director responsible for the data analysis and the establishment of the ranking table:
  • Participating in the project core group meetings and taking the minutes of these meetings;
  • Liaising with the media partner and communicating updates and providing progress reports;
  • Identifying and downloading key data on metrics related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
  • Making a major contribution in the design, content, layout and final output for various reports on the project and on the higher education sector;
  • Monitoring, providing regular updates on and filing questionnaire response rates from each participating university; and
  • Assisting in data analysis.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in administration, communication and/or a related field of study
  • Work experience in an administrative and/or communication role, preferably in an education setting
  • Working knowledge of Moodle and/or other learning management systems
  • Experience of and interest in data management, analysis and statistics
  • Experience in management and promotion of online education
  • Fluency in English; one or two other languages, preferably from among French, German and Spanish, would be an asset
  • Valid Swiss work permit
