Post description

IOE is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Communications Officer to cover a maternity leave within the communications unit. The ideal candidate has excellent knowledge of English and French (knowledge of Spanish would be a strong asset). This position’s primary responsibility covers editorial and publishing on IOE social media channels. The position supports the Director of Communications with multimedia production.

This position reports to the Director of Communications. As Communications Officer, your tasks will involve, but will not be limited to, assisting with:

Social media

  • Create high-quality original written and visual content for IOE social media accounts in English: Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, Facebook and Instagram
  • Ensure content uses the right voice for each social media platform. Monitor comments on social media.
  • Coordinate translation and posting on French and Spanish social media channels.
  • Monitor trends and analysis on IOE’s social media channels.

 Multimedia production

  • Records and edits videos for social media and other purposes.

Your skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with online communications, particularly social media.
  • Excellent command of MS Office tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Content Management Systems.
  • Fluency in English and French (knowledge of Spanish is a strong asset)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks.
  • Flexible and versatile
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team.
  • Dynamic and stress-resistant
  • Familiarity with and an interest in international institutions and business issues

Qualifications:

  • University degree in communications, public relations or journalism.
  • Two years previous experience working in communications.
  • Valid Swiss work permit.

 Conditions:

  • Starting date: Ideally 1 May 2023
  • Based in Geneva
  • Part-time schedule of four days per week
  • Duration: until 31 December 2023
