For more information visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dcaf.ch\">www.dcaf.ch<\/a> and follow us on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DCAF_Geneva\">Twitter @DCAF_Geneva<\/a>.\r\n\r\nDCAF\u2019s Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Unit supports governments, parliaments, security providers and civil society in the LAC region by developing capacities and promoting norms and good practices to contribute to a more effective, efficient and transparent security sector that is properly overseen by the relevant authorities, responsive and accountable to the people they serve.\r\n\r\nFor our LAC Unit we are looking for a for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to be our:\r\n\r\n<strong>Project Officer (100%)<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Location: Geneva, with occasional travel to the LAC region if the circumstances permit (mainly Honduras and other regions related to the Climate Change Programme)<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Starting date: As soon as possible<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Duration: until 31rst of December 2022, \u00a0with possibility of extension <\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>The role<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nUnder the supervision of the LAC Head of Entity, the Project Officer will be the main link point between HQ and the Field Office for the Honduras Programme and will be in charge of continuing to develop the Climate change portfolio in the Unit with the support of the Head of the Entity. Likewise, The PO will also be in charge of internal communications.\r\n<h3><strong>Main responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><strong>Project management support Honduras (60%)<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<em>Policing Advisory Programme in Honduras<\/em>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Coordinate all workflows for approvals by the Head of Entity and communication between HQ, Field Office in Honduras<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Support the Honduras FO in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of<\/li>\r\n \t<li>activities through constructive challenge and collaboration, ensuring the Head of Entity is aware of programme progress<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide thematic inputs through research and in-house collaboration<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Deploy on missions and field visits as a team member<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Aid the smooth management of quality control, financial and activity execution and reporting and provide quality control to products delivered by consultants and the local staff.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ol start=\"2\">\r\n \t<li><strong>Climate change and security (30%)<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Design of project budgets, log frames, theory of change, risk assessments, M&amp;E tools, financial reporting, etc.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Prepare background summaries, speaking points, presentations, and other documents as<\/li>\r\n \t<li>requested<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Deliver training and presentations to diverse audiences as requested<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Perform methodology development, documental review, and report writing<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ol start=\"3\">\r\n \t<li><strong>Admin and communication support (10%)<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Support the organisation of events and conferences, including with development of an agenda, identification of venue and provision of logistical support.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Produce communication material for strategic fundraising purposes; be responsible for regular updates of the entity\u2019s social media, factsheets and launching of publications,<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>Competencies and experience<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>At least 3-5 years\u2019 experience in international development cooperation or project management; field experience is an advantage.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong project management skills; proven track record of managing projects with local partners and field offices a plus.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Master\u2019s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, security studies, peace studies, development studies, history, law, or political science.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven excellent analytical, report writing and organizational skills.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>SRR knowledge or experience in multilateral organisations or think tanks is desirable<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge related to SSG\/R in the LAC region is desirable.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge related to Police Reform is desirable.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge of the linkages between Climate Change and security and familiarity with international policy discussions regarding Climate Change and security desirable.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven ability in being able to deliver constructive challenge whilst maintain positive relationships.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications; experience in using \u201cSharepoint\u201d is an advantage.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent communication and presentation skills.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is a prerequisite.
