The organisation is based in Geneva.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">UPR Info has four programmes:<\/span>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\"><em>The Policy and Advocacy Programme<\/em>: facilitates the dialogue on the strengthening of the UPR mechanisms and empowers other stakeholders (CSOs, NHRIs) to engage in and inform the UPR process through advocacy with State actors, including through participation in UPR Info\u2019s Pre-sessions.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The <em>Stakeholders Engagement Programme<\/em>: aims at increasing the engagement of other key stakeholders in the UPR, namely States under Review, Parliamentarians, National Human Rights Institutions and academia;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The <em>In-Country Programme<\/em>: offers technical assistance to States, NHRIs and CSOs to inform the UPR process and implement UPR recommendations;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The Digital Innovation and Knowledge management Programme: facilitates access to information about the UPR (as a human rights monitoring mechanism) and foster knowledge exchange to improve the effective realisation of human rights.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">UPR Info is a small NGO, with the related advantages and constraints attached. Every staff member plays an important role and dedication is key as it greatly impacts the work of the organization. It is therefore necessary to embrace the vision and goals of the organization in order to ensure its success.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">The Policy and Advocacy Programme, formerly the Pre-sessions Programme, began in 2012 at the beginning of the second cycle of the UPR. UPR Info saw that the formal UPR structure limited the extent to which civil society could engage dynamically with the process, and therefore decided to introduce the Pre-sessions with a dual aim. Firstly, the Pre-sessions offered civil society an international platform to directly advocate to State delegations ahead of the UPR session; and secondly to facilitate diplomatic delegations to ascertain information on countries\u2019 human rights landscapes. Throughout the third cycle of the UPR, the Pre-sessions have brought together over 838 civil society organizations (CSOs) and national human rights institutions (NHRIs).<\/span>\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">During the third cycle of the UPR, UPR Info organised a Pre-session on 172 States<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">. The Pre-sessions is the largest human rights advocacy platform giving voice to national actors in the world.<\/span>\r\n<h3><strong>Responsibilities and duties<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nThe\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Programme Officer<\/span>\u00a0will be under the overall guidance and\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">direct supervision<\/span>\u00a0of the\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Policy and Advocacy Programme<\/span>\u00a0Manager.\r\n\r\nThe\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Programme<\/span>\u00a0Officer will have four main responsibilities:\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Planning and implementation of <span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">the Pre-sessions<\/span>;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">P<\/span>roduction of advocacy and public information materials;<\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Organize and facilitate training<\/span>; and<\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">Monitor the Programme results;<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">He\/She will also:<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Support the drafting of operational and activities reports;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Assist the Executive Director when necessary.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>What we offer<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">An international environment, with constant interaction with human rights defenders from all corners of the world;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Lead of a unique and successful project putting civil society at the centre of the human rights international system;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">First-hand experience in the work and functioning of a human rights NGO;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Deep involvement in the United Nations human rights system;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Inspiring work in a growing NGO.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>Qualifications and criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<u><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Education<\/span><\/u>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Masters\u2019 degree in international law, human rights, international relations, development, social sciences or other relevant academic field.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<u><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Experience<\/span><\/u>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">3 years\u2019 work experience in human rights advocacy for an NGO or UN Agency;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">2 years\u2019 work experience in the field of human rights;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Experience in working with human rights defenders, CSOs or NHRIs;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Experience in facilitating training and developing advocacy materials;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Excellent knowledge of the UPR and the UN Human Rights Council will be considered an asset;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Previous experience with the UPR will be considered an asset;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Experience in project management will be an asset.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<u><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Languages<\/span><\/u>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Fluent in French and English;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Knowledge of Spanish will be considered an asset.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<u><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Skills<\/span><\/u>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Pro-active person, self-motivated, positive attitude, strategic thinking and multi-tasking ability;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\">Curiosity and capacity to contribute to the development of the NGO;
