With its Headquarters based in Geneva, Switzerland, ICJ has a presence in Africa, Latin America, Asia &amp; the Pacific, Europe &amp; Central Asia, and the Middle East. To help ensure the organization makes the best use of its financial resources and complies with all relevant rules and regulations, we are seeking a full-time <strong>Senior Finance Officer.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe ideal candidate has worked for at least nine years in the Finance department of an international NGO and is familiar with the complexities of working in a global context; has comprehensive knowledge and experience of analytical accounting and Swiss GAAP; and is able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.\r\n<h3><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Finance Officer holds the following responsibilities:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Review and ensure accuracy and conformity of accounting documents and accounting entries;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure that the revenue recognition is properly recognized on a quarterly basis;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Validate and process purchase requests and co-sign for payments;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Manage petty cash;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Participate in annual closing for the regional offices and Geneva accounts and prepare for review the Combined Financial statements;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Participate in the implementation of the Internal Control Systems and elaboration of financial control tools and in implementation of the accounting system;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Draft the organizational budget and the CORE donor budget and reporting;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide training and guidance on financial procedures and accounting software to financial and administration staff in Geneva and in regional and country offices;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Review the monthly payroll for all ICJ staff;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Review grant reports to the related regions before sending them to donors;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Assist in other financial and administrative tasks as requested by the CFO.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nThe successful candidate will have: <strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>University degree in economics, accounting, finance and administration or equivalent;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A minimum of 8 years work experience in accounting or finance;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience working for an NGO and\/or in a developing country and\/or in a multicultural environment an asset.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Spreadsheet and Word-processing programmes; Knowledge of Accounting software an asset (Navision).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge of analytical accounting required; familiarity with Swiss GAAP Accounting norms and RPC21 a distinct advantage.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Willingness to travel (up to 15 days a year).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Essential Skills <\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to take initiative;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to changing priorities and needs;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Attention to detail and accuracy;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Demonstrated analytic and writing ability including report-writing experience;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Teamwork oriented;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong multicultural skills and culturally sensitive;<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Commitment to human rights and the rule of law.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>APPLICATIONS<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nInterested applicants should provide all materials outlined below to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@icj.org\">recruitment@icj.org<\/a> by the <strong>22 June 2022<\/strong>, midnight Central European Time (CET).\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A CV (maximum 2 pages);<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A cover letter (maximum 1 page);<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The names and contact information of at least two recent references.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nPlease include \u201c<strong>Senior Finance Officer<\/strong>\u201d in the subject line of the application e-mail.\r\n\r\nThe ICJ shall not be liable for not opening proposals that are submitted with a different subject.\r\n\r\nOnly candidates with the relevant work authorization will be considered.\r\n\r\nPlease appreciate that due to the volume of applications, only short-listed candidates will be contacted.\u00a0 The ICJ is unable to respond to phone enquiries.\r\n\r\n<em>The ICJ is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity and value a diverse workforce.
