Kindly ensure to specify your permit type in the application if relevant).\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\r\n\r\nCome join the team!\r\n<h3><strong>What you will do<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nYour role will be to provide oversight, coordination and supervision of Monitoring Experts (MEs) for the region, as well as support the development of IDMC\u2019s methodologies for monitoring internal displacement related to conflict and disasters.\r\n<h3><strong>Some of your day-to-day tasks will include;<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<strong><em>Coordination and line management<\/em><\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Provide line management, evaluation and performance review of MEs, including acting as a mentor and assisting MEs to address monitoring processes and challenges<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure monitoring guidance and standards are implemented, followed and updated as required (coordinating with other Monitoring\u00a0Coordinators)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Supervise the detection of displacement events in the region, including managing the collection and triangulation of information to ensure that data is accurate, timely and collected at the appropriate spatial and temporal scales<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Identify displacement trends and analysis including documenting data gaps, challenges, and opportunities to support engagement, partnerships and IDMC\u2019s strategic vision<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Oversee the quality assurance (QA) of data and sources for the region to ensure the quality and consistency of the data in\u00a0IDMC\u2019s database\u00a0and of various monitoring outputs (internal displacement updates, figures analyses, contextual analyses etc.)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong><em>Research and Analysis<\/em><\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Act as the regional expert,\u00a0\u00a0developing regional analysis and providing contextual updates.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Identify trends and questions in the region that may require further research.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be the regional focal point for drafting and contributing to a range of products including annual and regional reports, thematic reports, technical papers\/analyses, talking points, etc.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Liaise regularly with other departments and regional teams on analytical priorities and synergies between monitoring and analytical products.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Connect with data providers and other partners to ensure regional analyses are updated and accurate while developing a solid network of contacts in the region.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Support country analysis by the MEs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Assist in monitoring of internal displacement that includes collecting, analyzing and uploading data to\u00a0IDMC\u2019s database<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<em><strong>Technical development<\/strong><\/em>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Assist in developing internal and external monitoring tools and data platforms to support regional teams and partners<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide user feedback on information management tools and processes<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Document and coordinate on ways to improve monitoring and data management<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<em><strong>Project support<\/strong><\/em>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Act as focal point for projects relevant to the region; delegating tasks to MEs when needed<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Where appropriate, travel to support projects, training, capacity building, or partner engagement<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>What you will bring<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Master\u2019s degree in international affairs, social sciences, displacement, migration, humanitarian or development studies,\u00a0data\u00a0science or related field.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>At least five years of relevant experience in research, analysis, reporting, and managing quantitative data.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience coordinating, managing or leading teams in a research or analytical capacity.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Significant experience maintaining relationships with various types of organizations.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Extensive knowledge of the geographical region\u00a0assigned (<strong><em>Asia and Pacific<\/em><\/strong>);\u00a0and experience with displacement or migration topics, particularly in the areas of disasters, conflict and\/or development in the region.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>An understanding of internal displacement policies, processes, and challenges in the context of conflict, violence, disasters and development.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience developing data standards, databases and information management systems.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Competence in the use of Word, Excel, databases and online research tools for the capture, organization and analysis of information.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Solid\u00a0oversight on the quality control of data and research outputs, including summarizing and drafting analysis based on this activity.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong communication and data analysis skills, detail oriented and with ability to perform under pressure.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Fluent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.\u00a0Fluency in\u00a0some languages\u00a0relevant in the region will be an\u00a0advantage.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<em>We know that you are curious and would like to learn more about this role;
