Background<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\r\nGANHRI is the global Network of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs), which are independent state bodies with a constitutional and\/or legislative mandate to protect and promote human rights. To date, more than 100 NHRIs exist worldwide, 78 of them being in full compliance with the United Nations Paris Principle<\/span>s<\/span>.\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nGANHRI is lead implementing agency for\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>EU funded project\u00a0<\/span>Capacity Building of National Human Rights Institutions\u202f- Phase 3 project (NHRI.EU.3).<\/span><\/i>\u00a0GANHRI\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0co-implementing partners are\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n

  • Asia-Pacific- Asia-Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF)\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Europe- European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThe project\u2019s overall objective is to:\u00a0<\/span>Enhance the role of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) and their global and regional networks in promoting and protecting the human rights of all individuals<\/span><\/i>, with further objectives being to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n
      \r\n \t
    • Strengthen NHRI\u2019s effectiveness to protect and promote human rights defenders and civic space; support and protect NHRIs when under threat in line with the 2018 Marrakech Declaration and follow-up frameworks.<\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
    • Strengthen the accreditation process and support the work of the Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA).\u202f Support the establishment, strengthening and accreditation of NHRIs to be in compliance with the Paris Principles.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
    • Enhance NHRIs\u2019 effectiveness in identified thematic areas to advance sustainable development through human rights.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
    • Continue strengthening GANHRI and the four regional networks, including their secretariats, to be able to better serve and support their member NHRIs.\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThe project is being implemented between 2022 and 2025.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nUnder Strategic Objective 4 of the project, (<\/span>Continue strengthening GANHRI and the four regional networks, including their secretariats<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0<\/span>to be able to better serve and support their member NHRIs<\/span><\/i>), support is be provided to assist GANHRI to develop a new strategic plan (2023-2025).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n

      Duties and responsibilities\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\r\nThe Consultant will provide technical, strategic and facilitation support to assist GANHRI in the development of the Strategic Plan.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nIn particular:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\r\n
        \r\n \t
      • Undertake a 1-day kick-start consultation with GANHRI staff members, and based from this interaction develop an inception report which details: process guide and strategic plan template and clear timelines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
      • Following gaining approval from GANHRI of the agreed approach (detailed in inception report), undertake the implementation of this approach<\/span>1<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

        Expected outputs\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\r\n
          \r\n \t
        • A 1-day consultation with GANHRI staff members is undertaken\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
        • Inception report with process guide and strategic plan template and clear timelines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
        • Implementation of GANHRI endorsed approach\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

          Essential Criteria: skills and experience required:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\r\nThe consultant should have the following individual\/ collective skills and qualifications:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n
            \r\n \t
          • A minimum of master\u2019s degree in a relevant field<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Demonstrated experience in developing strategies for international private or public sector.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Sound knowledge and understanding of using Results Based Management principles in monitoring, evaluation and learning.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Excellent drafting and presentation skills (Written and oral fluency in English is a requirement<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
