style=\"font-weight: 400\">The CyberPeace Institute is an independent and neutral non governmental organization who works to enhance the stability of cyberspace by decreasing the frequency, impact, and scale of destructive cyberattacks.\u00a0 The Institute works in close collaboration with relevant partners to reduce the harms from cyberattacks on people\u2019s lives worldwide, and provide them assistance.\u00a0 By analyzing cyberattacks, the Institute exposes their societal impact, how international laws and norms are being violated, and advances responsible behavior to enforce cyberpeace.<\/span>\r\n<h3><b>Your Mission<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Institute is seeking a hands-on professional to join the dynamic Advancement (Policy) team contributing to efforts to promote responsible behavior in cyberspace through engagement and influence strategies to advance cybersecurity policies, and to operationalise and advance international laws and norms.\u00a0 This position contributes to active collaboration with policymakers, cybersecurity experts, and industry leaders to inform and influence policies, including of the societal impacts and harm of cyberattacks, and to develop best practices, support research, engagement and diplomacy efforts.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The successful candidate will conduct cross-disciplinary research, analysis and engagement\u00a0 aimed at assessing the current ecosystem of international laws and norms related to cyberspace, and policy initiatives.\u00a0 Through analysis, research, publication, and stakeholder engagement, the successful candidate will assist the Institute to promote human centric solutions.<\/span>\r\n<h3><b>Your Responsibilities\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Under the leadership of the Chief Public Policy Officer, the Public Policy Advisor will work with a range of in-house experts ;<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Research and analyze the current legal and normative landscape governing the behavior of state and non-state actors in cyberspace, including policy and legal research streams;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Track and report on developments in cyber and internet governance at the international and domestic levels;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Collaborate with the Institute cyber data analysts to analyze legal and policy implications of cyberattacks and operations, notably by analyzing how attacks violate legal instruments and norms;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contribute to the development and implementation of global, regional, and country-level policy and engagement strategies;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide input and position papers to multi-stakeholder initiatives in the context of peace and justice in cyberspace;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Produce policy briefing, position papers, blogs and other materials on topics of strategic importance for the Institute;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Liaise with relevant stakeholders across industry, academia and civil society, and relevant public sector entities;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Perform additional tasks in support of the Institute, across various teams, projects and initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><b>Your Experience, Skills, and Attributes<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This position requires an experienced policy advisor with significant knowledge and expertise in the fields of cybersecurity and relevant laws and norms.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Candidates must have experience in leading the design and implementation of cyber-related advocacy strategies in a multi-stakeholder environment.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As an experienced public policy advisor, candidates should have the following track record:<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3-5 years in cybersecurity policy, digital diplomacy and\/or cyber research;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3-5 years of experience in developing and implementing policy work at international level;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Proven experience of engaging with multi-stakeholder initiatives, governments and international organizations in the context of cyber-related policies;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Demonstrated critical analysis and writing skills, including through publications in blogs, academic journals, and presentations, related to international law and policy (i.e. cyber norms, International Humanitarian Law, International Human Rights Law, etc.);<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ability to understand societal impact of cyberattacks, and be able to translate these into policy recommendations and influence\/engagement strategies;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong oral and written communication skills in English (with strong oral and written skills in French considered an asset);<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst dealing with ambiguity, adversity, change, and real-time adjustments;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Appetite to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong planning skills and commitment to excellence;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lateral thinker, capable of listening to other people\u2019s points of view and integrating multiple internal and external perspectives;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A strong team An excellent command of this language, including related to law and cybersecurity, is required.
