Background<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\r\nThe Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions<\/span>\u00a0(<\/span>GANHRI<\/span><\/a>)<\/span>\u00a0is the\u00a0<\/span>international body representing<\/span>\u00a0n<\/span>ational\u00a0<\/span>h<\/span>uman\u00a0<\/span>r<\/span>ights\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>nstitutions (NHRIs), which are independent state bodies with a constitutional and\/or legislative mandate to protect and promote human rights.<\/span>\u00a0To date, more than 1<\/span>1<\/span>0 NHRIs exist worldwide, 78 of them being in full compliance with the United Nations Paris Principles<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nGANHRI is lead implementing agency for the EU<\/span>\u2013<\/span>funded project Capacity Building of National Human Rights Institutions<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0Phase 3 project (NHRI.EU.3).
