Its Operational Centre in Geneva (MSF OCG) manages medical assistance programs in 26 countries for a total staff of over 9000 people.\r\n<h3><strong>Responsibilities and tasks <\/strong><\/h3>\r\nAs native Arabic speaker you are in direct contact and provide support to L&amp;D project officer with translation projects in order to guarantee a high-quality and human-reviewed translation, you:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Discuss the precise scope of work and any specific expectations for each document to be translated<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Assessment and review of document prior to translation to estimate the work load (when necessary)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide support with translation and editing of MSF\u2019s L&amp;D documents, publications and eLearnings<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure high quality of translation, accurately reflecting the meaning found in the original source language (most often English) and rendering that meaning in the translated work<\/li>\r\n \t<li>elaborate a glossary with technical and MSF terminology specific to the course<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Thorough proof-reading of translation provided by external company or Tembo<\/li>\r\n \t<li>do a technical accuracy review, including confirmation of technical terms<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Edit and adapt translation and use the MSF vocabulary when necessary<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Support the L&amp;D team with quality checks of commissioned translations by external providers<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Support project manager with final check and sign off of translation<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Implement translated text in Rise or equivalent files<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Track and communicate design adjustments to accommodate differences between languages, including increased word count, reversal of text flow (e.g. for Arabic), script and stylistic differences, and other changes<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Support with design testing of courses translated into Arabic by using the provided Tembo Design testing sheet<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Implement updates in Rise or equivalent files<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Your Profile<\/h3>\r\n<h4><em>Education<\/em><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Tertiary degree in writing, translation or equivalent<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><em>Experience<\/em><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Field experience with MSF is a plus<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience in writing and editing documents, reports, etc.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><em>Languages<\/em><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Native Arabic<\/li>\r\n \t<li>English, French. Ability to speak and write fluently<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><em>Personal Abilities<\/em><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Excellent organizational skills.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to work on different projects at the same time.
