In 2014, AfD was granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).<\/span>\r\n<h4><b>Responsibilities of the External Relations Officer<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AfD is seeking a committed person who can provide support with advocacy &amp; communication tasks on a voluntary basis. The ideal candidate shall have a background in media &amp; communications, journalism, or development communication. They should also have familiarity with Swiss rules and regulations and have some knowledge of the local environment.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<h4><b>Specific activities:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prepare communication material such as annual reports and quarterly newsletters;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Regularly update the content of the English\/French websites;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draft funding proposals;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop communication material for external partners and donors;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Promote AfD\u2019s image on social media platforms with daily posts and run online fundraising campaigns in support of AfD\u2019s programs;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain a record of all communication material on AfD\u2019s communication shared drive, particularly photos;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draft web stories and liaise with the team in Kabul to receive regular updates, stories, and photos;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Establish partnerships with other non-profit organizations, possible donors, UN agencies, international organizations, etc. with the aim of promoting AfD\u2019s image;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manage campaigns on the Global Giving online platform, including drafting reports to be submitted on a quarterly basis;<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Promote AfD\u2019s image with participation in events (live or online) marking international events and campaigns (e.g.: International Women\u2019s Day, Breastfeeding Week, World Refugee Day, Youth Day, Giving Tuesday, LittlexLittle, Photo Contests, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist the Program Director and the Health\/Education units with tasks related to communication.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><b>Required Qualifications:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Degree or studying in any of the following relevant areas:\u00a0 Business, Marketing, Communications<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fluent in written and spoken English.\u00a0 French would be an asset.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Detail-orientated good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Candidates with work experience within NGO procedures will be preferable.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><b>Terms of the Contract:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Please note that this is an unpaid part-time volunteer position\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Time Commitment: minimum of 1 day per week, either working in the office or remotely.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The candidate should ideally be based in Geneva so they
