In 2014, AfD was granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).<\/span>\r\n<h4><b>Responsibilities of the Public Health Specialist:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">AfD is seeking an experienced Project Manager based in Geneva to support the setup and establishment of a primary health centre in Kabul, Afghanistan.\u00a0 The Project Manager will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of the centre setup to it\u2019s full operation and ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h4><b>Specific activities:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><em>Project Planning<\/em>: Develop a comprehensive project plan that outlines all tasks, timelines and resources required for the setup and operation of the health center.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Budget Management<\/em>: Manage the project budget, tracking expenses and problem solving to ensure no cost overruns<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Regulatory Compliance<\/em>: Ensure compliance with local regulations and healthcare standards.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Site selection<\/em>: Coordinate needs assessment to determine health centre location.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Staff Recruitment<\/em>: Support staff recruitment.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Equipment and Supplies<\/em>: Support identification of needs and procurement process.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Timeline Management<\/em>: Monitor project milestones and adjust the project plan as needed to ensure on-time delivery.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Local engagement<\/em>: Ensure there is regular and effective engagement with local communities,\u00a0 authorities and other health service providers.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><em>Reporting<\/em>: Provide timely progress reports to stakeholders including project status, budget updates and issues or challenges encountered.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><b>Required Qualifications:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Environmental or Biological Science, Data Analysis\/ Management, or in a similar field.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Background in nutrition, pharma, epidemiology, or public health is an asset.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Detail-orientated, good organizational skills, ability to work independently and in a team.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong skills in English written and spoken.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><b>Terms of the Contract:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please note that this is an unpaid part-time volunteer position.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Time Commitment: minimum of one day per week, either working in the office or remotely.
