Our five-year Global Strategy challenges us to transform how we work.\r\n\r\nPlan International has Liaison Offices in New York, Geneva, Brussels, and Addis Ababa that are responsible for managing relations with the United Nations, the European Union, and the African Union. Plan\u2019s Geneva UN Liaison Office is part of the UN team hosted under Plan International\u2019s Strategy and Engagement department. We seek to increase our influencing quality and impact at the global, national, and local levels by working closely with colleagues across the Plan International network and through liaison offices in New York, Geneva, Brussels, and Addis Ababa that manage relations with the United Nations, the European Union, and the African Union.\r\n\r\nThe UN Representative & Head of the Geneva Office works as part of the UN Leadership Team (UNLT) to lead the strategic thinking and planning for Plan International\u2019s engagement at the United Nations in Geneva.\u00a0 This role supports the advancement of Plan International\u2019s Global Strategy, Global Advocacy Strategy (GLAS) and focusing on the priorities identified in Plan International\u2019s UN Strategy. It will help continue consistency in policy and advocacy messaging and approach to ensure maximum impact, visibility, and a firmly established organisational voice in relevant spaces. This role will ensure the effective and strategic realisation of Plan International UN engagements in Geneva, including at the HRC, UNHCR engagement, Humanitarian Partnership week, etc. and working with human rights mechanisms, and special procedures.\r\n\r\nPlan International wishes to encourage applications from professional leaders with a breadth of policy, advocacy and resource mobilisation experience and a depth of understanding of UN institutions. Candidates must have the right to work in the EU. The role is based in Geneva, Switzerland and some travel will be required within and outside the EU, including to remote and conflict areas if necessary.
