The Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) uses the power of law to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure a just and sustainable society.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Specialist will work within the Communications team to support CIEL\u2019s communications campaigns including those related to human rights and climate change and the global fossil economy. The Specialist will primarily support campaigns working in Europe, digital strategy, and bottom-line social media posting in European timezones.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Based in CIEL\u2019s Geneva office, the Communications Specialist will use communications skills and strategies to advance program objectives. To perform this role, the ideal candidate will have experience creating strategic social media content, drafting talking points and newsworthy content, and implementing a variety of communications tools to advance campaign strategies. The Specialist will coordinate closely with the corollary US-based communications colleague to support CIEL social media strategy and presence across time zones.<\/span>\r\n<h2><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<h3><b>Digital Strategy (50%)\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintain CIEL\u2019s social media calendar, keeping an overview of upcoming high-intensity times to help stack and spread content for maximum impact.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop and curate content for social media, and develop digital campaign actions that engage supporters.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Support overarching CIEL cohesion and consistency across social channels, and digital platforms.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coordinate closely with US-based (digital) communications Specialist to ensure seamless transition across time zones.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><b>Communications Campaigning:<\/b><b> (20%)<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draft and edit clear, compelling written content for newsletters, press releases, statements, talking points, social media content, reports, and multimedia materials when needed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Support development and design of public-ready content to ensure consistent, high-quality, and coherent positions and vision.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Working with Program staff, design and implement timely, high-impact communications campaigns to advance goals.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In coordination with the Media Relations Specialist, support, when needed, earned media strategy.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><b>General Communications: (30%)<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coordinate within the Comms team to achieve campaign goals, assisting in information flow within Comms and across other CIEL programs.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ensure alignment and coherence of campaign communications within CIEL\u2019s broader vision and strategy,<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meet periodically as requested with the supervisor and other team members in Communications and relevant programs.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2><b>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<h3><b>Minimum Qualifications:<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At least 2-3 years of professional experience in communications and digital media.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Demonstrated ability to write clearly and compellingly for a variety of audiences, including policymakers and the public on different platforms.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experience working with diverse coalitions and environmental or human rights policy campaigns.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Able to oversee and deliver multiple priorities by target dates and perform a wide variety of tasks over the course of the workday.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Able to work both independently and collaboratively, in close coordination across teams.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Comfort admitting what you don\u2019t know and recognizing that seeking and receiving feedback is part of the learning process.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Awareness of how your words and actions affect others, openness to and respect for others\u2019 perspectives.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><b>Desired Qualifications:<\/b><\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Familiarity with the drivers and impacts of the triple planetary crisis of pollution, biodiversity loss, and climate change<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Proficiency in Spanish or French<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Action-Oriented<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Makes things happen.
