ROLE PURPOSE<\/h3>\r\nGold Standard is currently seeking a Finance Officer to join our growing team. This role reports to the Finance Manager and is primarily responsible for supporting the bookkeeping and accounting functions at Gold Standard. The position is available on a full-time basis and entails a fixed-term contract of 6 months.<\/span>\r\n

Gold Standard is a standards body and thought leader that promotes the best that can be achieved in climate and development projects. It was established in 2003 by\u00a0WWF<\/a>\u00a0and other international NGOs as a best practice standard to ensure projects that reduced carbon emissions under the UN\u2019s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) also delivered sustainable development benefits. Today, our standard, \u2018Gold Standard for the Global Goals\u2019, allows climate and development initiatives within carbon markets, corporate supply chains, and sustainable finance to manage, measure and maximise their impacts toward the Net Zero ambition of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals. Certification against the standard provides the confidence that these results are measured and verified, enabling credible impact reporting.           YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:<\/span><\/h4>\r\n \r\n

          • Bill Verification and Entry:<\/span><\/span> Verify the accuracy of bills, ensuring they are approved and supported by the necessary documents. Enter verified bills into the accounting software.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Payments Preparation<\/span><\/span>: Prepare payments to vendors in a timely manner.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Daily Record Keeping<\/span><\/span>: Record all incoming and outgoing payments on a daily basis in the accounting software.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Expense Report Verification<\/span><\/span>: Verify and process team expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Bookkeeping Accuracy<\/span><\/span>: Ensure the accuracy of bookkeeping entries and the correct application of VAT rates.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Vendor Contact Management<\/span><\/span>: Keep the vendor contact list up-to-date.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • VAT Returns<\/span><\/span>: Prepare quarterly VAT returns for Geneva tax authorities by reconciling VAT GL accounts.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Monthly Reconciliation<\/span><\/span>: Assist with monthly reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Year-End Closing and Audit Support<\/span><\/span>: Assist with year-end closing and preparations for the annual audit.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
          • Procedure Development<\/span><\/span>: Contribute to the development and documentation of financial and accounting procedures to ensure efficient and standardized processes.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

            YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\r\n \r\n
              \r\n \t
            • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; or equivalent<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • 2-5 years experience in a similar position in a fast moving office environment<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • Strong analytical skills, experience with Swiss GAAP a plus<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • Enthusiasm for making efficiency improvements to existing processes<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • Ability to work independently and to deadlines<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • Solid skills in the use of MS Office programs and general aptitude for the use of IT systems<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
            • Fluency in written and spoken English and French<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

              • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the environment or sustainable development a plus<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
