About Action for Development (AfD)<\/b><\/h3>\r\nAction for Development is a NGO with offices in Geneva Switzerland and Kabul Afghanistan.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nAfD aims to ensure that funding for health and community development programs are spent in ways that maximize its impact, partnering with local organizations at the grass roots level.\u00a0 The main focus areas of our programs are strategic health facilities management, maternal, neonatal and child health services expansion, family planning, water, sanitation and hygiene, women's empowerment, capacity building and education. In 2014, AfD was granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).<\/span>\r\n\r\nResponsibilities of the Public Health Officer<\/b>\r\n\r\nThe Public Health Officer will work on a public health and nutrition portfolio and will be primarily responsible for the collection and analysis of data related to our Comprehensive Health Center (CHC) located in Kabul, Afghanistan.<\/span>\r\n\r\nSpecific activities:<\/b>\r\n
    \r\n \t
  • Act as a focal-point in communications with the CHC in order to collect and consolidate monthly reports (HMIS forms, HF payrolls and cost-recovery information), analyze data tables, as well as to continue to maintain our good working relationship and be made aware of any issues, needs.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Analysis the data regarding use of the CHC on a quarterly basis, showing gender of clients, age breakdown, drugs used etc<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Report this data to the CEO and management team in a timely manner<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Assist by providing data for Concept Notes and Grant Applications as requested.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Assist with drafting Concept notes and proposals when and if necessary<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Participate in AfD special projects if asked.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Assist the Health team to conduct research, documentation of health projects, organizing health education, training, and awareness program.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

    Required Qualifications<\/b><\/h4>\r\n
      \r\n \t
    • Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Environmental or Biological Science, Data Analysis\/ Management or in a similar field.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
    • Background in nutrition, pharma, epidemiology or public health an asset.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
    • Detail orientated, good organizational skills, ability to work independently and in a team.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
    • Strong skills in English and French both written and spoken.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

      Terms of the Contract:<\/b><\/h4>\r\n

      • Please note that this is an unpaid part-time volunteer position\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
      • Time Commitment: minimum of one day per week, either working in the office or remotely. The candidate should ideally be based in Geneva.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
