IDMC curates and analyses data from a wide range of sources, provides insight into the risk, scale, causes and impacts of the phenomenon and supports partners around the world in identifying and implementing solutions to it.\r\n\r\nIDMC\u2019s global monitoring team is divided into three geographic regions: Africa and Middle East; Asia and Pacific; Americas, Europe and Central Asia, and compiles, triangulates and validates data on internal displacement at the national, regional and global levels. It is in charge of the production of country profiles, regional reports and the Global Report on Internal Displacement (GRID), that analyse the key trends and developments of internal displacement globally. In addition, you should have at least one year of experience working with and\/or developing databases and information management systems. You will have a master\u2019s degree in international affairs, social sciences, displacement, migration, humanitarian or development studies, information science, statistics or related field. You will be a highly organised and rigorous researcher, with demonstrated ability to organise and identify relevant information, and to conduct desk reviews of secondary literature, and you will possess strong skills and experience in processing, reviewing and uploading large amounts of data.\r\n\r\nIn addition, you will have:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Attention to detail and thoroughness in day-to-day work<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Collaborative working style and a strong team player<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Solution-oriented with positive attitude towards resolving problems<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven experience liaising and communicating externally with various types of organisations<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Organizational and time management skills - can perform well under pressure and ability to deliver under tight deadlines when necessary<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Previous experience with displacement or migration topics, particularly in the areas of disasters, conflict and\/or development in the region would be an asset<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge of the geographical region and operational experience working on conflict, disasters, and development would be an asset<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Competence in the use of Word, Excel, databases and online research tools for the collection, organisation and analysis of information<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Fluent and excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Fluency in French or Portuguese would be an asset<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>What makes this position attractive?<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A challenging and exciting opportunity with an international team dedicated to advancing practical, data-based solutions to internal displacement.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A 12-month full-time contract with NRC in Geneva<strong>\u00a0(candidates need to be EU\/EFTA citizens or have a valid work permit for Geneva, Switzerland in order to be eligible for this role - please ensure to include this information in your application);<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Salary and benefits according to NRC\u2019s salary scale and terms and conditions.
