The World Organisation Against Torture office in Geneva <\/strong>is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and versatile individual, with strong commitment to human rights to become OMCT\u2019s SOS Torture Network and UN Advocacy Coordinator.<\/p>\r\n\r\n The OMCT works with around 200 member organisations which constitute its SOS-Torture Network, to end torture, fight impunity and protect human rights defenders worldwide. Together, we make up the largest global group actively standing up to torture in more than 75 countries. Helping local voices be heard, we support our vital partners in the field and provide direct assistance to victims. Our international secretariat is based in Geneva, with offices in Brussels and Tunis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n The Coordinator SOS-Torture Network and UN Advocacy works under the supervision of the Director of the Anti-Torture Programme and is primarily responsible for the Network development and support and the strategizing and coordination of OMCT\u2019s UN advocacy actions.\u00a0 Though integrated into the Anti-torture team, this position is transversal and works closely with all of OMCT\u2019s programmes and teams including Human Rights Defenders team and the Grants Programme, as well as with the OMCT\u2019s regional desks and the Communications team.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n This role leads the dynamic development and mobilization of the SOS-Torture Network by enhancing engagement and communication with the Network, supporting specific Network actions, and integrating Network approaches into OMCT\u2019s overall strategy and its regional and thematic work.
