The SNC works towards a negotiated end to the conflict benefitting the Syrian people through dialogue, peaceful means and democracy in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2254. The SNCGO seeks to contract a consultant to provide advice related to the political, human security and Interdisciplinary fields.\r\n<h4><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Enhance cooperation between local, regional and international players including academia tailored to achieve SNC objectives.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Recommend initiatives in the domain of mediation and negotiation via interdisciplinary and diplomatic course of actions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Establish exchanges\u2019 platforms with diverse political, economic, civil and religious actors in Syria<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Any other assignment(s) to be tasked by the SNC Chairperson.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in international relations, economics or management.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge of UN and Swiss policies.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Profound experience in peace building in (post) conflict contexts, dialogue process design and human rights diplomacy.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Profound understanding of the UN system.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent command of written and spoken English, French and Arabic.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>DELIVERABLES<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Prepare a brief report (max. 2 pages) every month on progress, lessons learnt, and recommendations structured as per Duties and Responsibilities.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Prepare a final report (max. 4 pages) on progress, lessons learnt, and recommendations structured as per Duties and Responsibilities.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>CONTRACT DURATION<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nStarting as soon as possible, ideally mid September until 31 December 2024.\r\n<h4><strong>DUTY STATION<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nGeneva, Switzerland.\r\n<h4><strong>APPLICATION PROCESS<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nInterested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, a financial offer (daily rate in EUR) and any relevant supporting documents to <a href=\"mailto:recruitment@sncgeneva.org\">recruitment@sncgeneva.org<\/a> by 3 September 2024 COB.
